Darlene Norman, Independent Facilitator Services

Welcome! Darlene Norman is a proud parent of a child with a health and developmental disability resulting in both medical and educational complex needs. As a parent, she elected to transition her daughter's traditional service model to the Self Determination Program in order to maximize her child's regional center services and supports\ that are customized to meet the unique and unmet needs. She has walked a similar path to you, navigating multiple systems (e.g., educational, medical, developmental/community-based disability services) in order to serve the unmet needs of her child. Prior to parenthood, Darlene's training and background began in educational support services as a school psychologist. She expanded into educational administration as a program specialist and special education director. She enjoys working in the public educational sector as well as in private practice. Darlene also offers professional services as a licensed educational psychologist at Resilient Minds Collective in San Jose. Her primary services include comprehensive assessment needs (e.g., Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE), psycho-educational, and school neuropsychological) for school-age and college students, parent and school consultation, training, presentations, and executive functioning coaching. Inspired by her child and advocacy needs, Darlene is the founder of Embraced IDEAS(SM) which offers parent coaching and membership services to assist parents with developing organizational systems in the Personal Passport Academy(SM). California Regional Center clients and parent/guardians are welcome to contact Darlene Norman, Independent Facilitator Services, Embraced IDEA, and/or Resilient Minds Collective as a vendor for Self Determination Program services. Note: As of December 16, 2023, Darlene Norman, Independent Facilitator will only receive funds from the regional center for the drafting of the Person Centered Plan. All services beyond that will be billed to the client at an hourly or flat rate.
